When Weather Made History

  • January 21, 2014
  • 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
  • Public Lincoln Library, Carnegie Room North, 326 S. 7th St.

On Tuesday, January 21, 2014, the Sangamon County Historical Society will examine the unique role weather has played in shaping the county's history.

The society is fortunate to have two excellent speakers who will address this topic.  State Climatologist Jim Angel will talk to the society about all things weather related--blizzards, rainstorms, floods, heat waves, tornadoes, and more, and city historian Curtis Mann, manager of the city library's Sangamon Valley Collection, will examine historically significant storms, droughts and other weather related situations that have impacated the development of Sangamon County.

The program will take place at 5:30 pm at the public Lincoln Library in downtown Springfield, 326 S. 7th St.  The meeting is free and open to the public.

We hope to see you there!
