Registration is closed

Sally Cadagin, our president of 10 years ago has planned a special presentation for our annual meeting. She has invited Rev. Peter Cartwright to return to the Peter Cartwright Methodist church in Pleasant Plains to ‘save our souls’! The Rev. Cartwright will present two (very short for him) sermons at 5:45 and at 6:15 in the church. The church also has a Cartwright exhibit to share with visitors.

It is suggested that members drive out the Old Jacksonville Road and go through Berlin (Old) to the 4 way stop a mile west at the Pleasant Plains Rd and turn north. Proceed north about 7 miles to the Pleasant Plains cemetery (the road curves around the cemetery) and enter for Cartwright memorial site. From 5:30 – 6:00 you will be welcomed to the gravesite by an interpreter. Then proceed on to Pleasant Plains and turn left for one block on Church Street to the Peter Cartwright Methodist Church on the right. Peter Cartwright will be presenting sermons at 5;45 and at 6:15 and the exhibit area will be open.

After the sermon again proceed north on Co. Rd. 10 to Hwy. 125.  Turn right and go east about 1 1/2 mile to Clayville. Refreshments will be available from 6:00 on and raffle items will be out for inspection. A buffet dinner catered by Carol Jean Fraase will be served at 7:00 pm. Following dinner Sally Cadagin will provide additional insights into Rev. Peter Cartwright’s world, to be  followed by the Annual Meeting and our traditional raffle.

The cost of the evening’s activities, including dinner, will be $30.00 until June 15 and $35.00 thereafter if there is still space available.  Anyone willing to help make it all happen please contact the office: schsoffice@gmail.com or 525-1961.
