Now You See It, Now You Don't--William Furry

  • October 21, 2014
  • 5:30 PM
  • Carnegie Room North, Public Lincoln Library, Springfield, IL
William Furry, executive director of the Illinois State Historical Society will be the featured speaker at the October 21st Sangamon County Historical Society meeting.

"Now You See It, Now You Don't," promises to be a lighthearted look at Sangamon County's landmarks, filling in the blanks as to what they were, where they were, and why some of them are gone and have, in fact, completely disappeared.

Furry, a long-time member of the Sangamon County Historical Society, also serves as editor of Illinois Heritage magazine and is a sixth generation Springfieldian.  In his spare time he makes music with the local folk ensemble Thistle n' Thyme, and with the Midwestern band Finnegans Walk, now in its 41st year.

The program will begin at 5:30 in Carnegie Room North at the City of Springfield's public Lincoln Library.  Seasonal refreshments will be served.  The program is free and open to the public.
