Tour of the Chatham Railroad Museum--MEMBERS ONLY

Members of the Sangamon County Historical Society will have the opportunity to hear a talk on the history of rail in Sangamon County and take a tour of the Chatham Railroad Museum on September 16.  

Bill Shannon, president of the Chicago & Illinois Midland Chapter of the National Railway History Association will preface the tour with a look at the area's early railways that linked and nurtured the growth of communities along its spine.  His talk will begin at 5:30 pm at the Chatham Community Building, 109 West Mulberry Street on the north side of the village square.

Afterwards, program goers can walk a short block or drive over to the Chatham Railroad Museum at 100 North State Street.  

The program is free, but reservations must be made online by Sept. 12th, as space is limited.
